Video Transcoding
Transcode videos between MP4 and MOV. Choose the codec (H.264/H.265), quality (CRF), resolution scaling and audio options.
All processing runs locally in your browser. Your videos are never uploaded — they never leave your device.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't this work on mobile?
Video transcoding needs a lot of memory and CPU. Mobile browsers tend to crash with out-of-memory errors, so the feature is desktop only.
H.264 or H.265?
H.265 gives smaller files at the same quality but encodes slower and won't play on some older devices. Pick H.264 for maximum compatibility.
What CRF should I use?
18–28 is the useful range. Lower means better quality and a larger file. Around 23 suits most content.
Why is transcoding so slow?
Everything runs in your browser through WebAssembly. Speed depends on your CPU, the resolution and the length of the video. Keep this tab in the foreground and let it finish.
Can I remove the audio track?
Yes. Enable "Remove audio" to export a silent video.
